ANADIGICS added six more amplifiers supporting DOCSIS 3.1

Date: 22/10/2013
Compound semiconductor RF IC specialist ANADIGICS has expanded its Gallium Nitride (GaN) based SMT amplifier IC family supporting high-speed digital cable TV standard DOCSIS version 3.1. ANADIGICS has unveiled ACA1210, ACA1212, ACA1216, ACA2431, ACA2449, and ACA2461. The amplifier already available in the market is ACA2429.

DOCSIS 3.1 operates in the frequency up to 1.2 GHz to support higher data rates so that cable TV service providers can offer faster Internet as well as high-quality Video On Demand services.

“ANADIGICS’ CATV infrastructure portfolio continues to set the performance and reliability standard,” said Tim Laverick, vice president of Infrastructure Products at ANADIGICS. “Our new DOCSIS 3.1 surface mount line amplifiers deliver industry-leading linearity and output power across an expanded frequency range to support the newest generation of 1.2 GHz downstream equipment. With a heritage of world-class reliability and proven process technologies, we are helping MSOs confidently upgrade their network hardware as they roll out exciting new services made possible by DOCSIS 3.1.”

ANADIGICS says these power amplifiers offer high signal linearity and fidelity over extended frequencies up to 1.2 GHz. They are also praised for bit error rate (BER), composite triple beat (CTB), composite second order (CSO), cross modulation and carrier-to-intermodulation noise (CIN) characteristics performance in a fully-loaded spectrum. ANADIGICS, which is an expert in compound semiconductor material technology has utilised both high linearity Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) MESFET process with GaN HEMT technology for high output power and optimum power efficiency.
