MMC/eMMC 4.5 Device Controller IP from
Arasan
Arasan Chip Systems, Inc. has announced its MMC/eMMC 4.5
Device Controller IP product, and upgrades, to its complete
family of Multi-Card Reader (MCR) Host Controllers. These
MMC/eMMC 4.5 Device and Host Controllers supports the recently
released JEDEC specification, designed to meet requirements
for secure, yet flexible, program code and data storage
for consumer electronic products.
With its low-pin count, high bandwidth, and multiple boot
mechanisms, eMMC 4.5 greatly simplifies design for systems
employing non-volatile storage. Arasan says its Device and
MCR Host Controller IP implementations of the eMMC 4.5 specification
facilitate higher system level performance, in order to
meet the increasing demands of consumer electronic devices.
Arasan's Device and Host Controllers are offered as a Total
IP solution including RTL Host Controller IP, Software Stack,
Hardware Development Board, Verification IP and ESL models.
Arasan claims its eMMC 4.5 Device and MCR Host Controller
offering few features, enabling superior consumer products
including higher clock rates, larger sector size, and automatic
transmission parameter tuning resulting into 2x improvement
in bandwidth to 1.6 Gb/sec.
Arasan's new eMMC 4.5 Device and MCR Host products provide
manufacturers a Total IP solution for creating products
supporting these standards:
· SD/SDIO/MMC/eMMC Device Controller
· 3MCR - SD/SDIO/MMC/eMMC Host Controller
· 5MCR - SD/SDIO/MMC/eMMC/MS/MSPro
· 6MCR - SD/SDIO/MMC/eMMC/MS/MSPro/xD
· 7MCR - SD/SDIO/MMC/eMMC/MS/MSPro/xD/CF
"All of our MMC/eMMC 4.5 Controllers are offered as
a Total IP solution including all of the RTL, Verification
IP, software stacks and drivers, and hardware development
kits that are required to integrate and validate our IP
in the customer's system", said Prakash Kamath, Vice
President Engineering, Arasan.
