This year they are supporting us with family sponsorship,
donating solar lights and also providing transportation
for school. SOS Children's Village today is a result of
association of people, participation of people, commitment
of people, hardworking mothers and co-workers. We have 32
functioning villages now and we support more than 6,000
children in our family based care and 14,000 children in
our second programme called family strengthening programme.
All in all we support about 20,000 children, looking towards
their bright future and we would like to extend our gratitude
to Applied Materials for their continued support to our
efforts" Titus Poovkulam, Zonal Director, SOS Children's

Today, there are 40 SOS Children's Villages in India including
facilities for Tibetan children and a new village coming
up at Mumbai, 122 allied projects like Kindergartens, Schools,
Social, Medical, Vocational Training Centers and Outreach
Initiatives spread across the country reaching out to over
15,000 children.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Madhusudan Atre, President,
Applied Materials India said, "Applied Materials is
committed to investing in meaningful social causes in every
community it operates in. The concept of SOS addresses a
very critical aspect of bringing up children - that of providing
them inclusive growth. We strongly believe that a society's
development depends largely on providing sustainable and
equal opportunities of livelihood to its citizens. We have
been associated with SOS Children's Village for more than
two years now and the main objective of our collaboration
has been to relentlessly support nutrition, health and education
of these children. Our interaction with SOS has been extremely
gratifying and we hope to continue our relationship in the
years to come."
