Eden Rock to serve as system integrator
for Motorola's WiMax solutions
Motorola has announced Eden Rock Communications to serve
as a system integrator for delivering Motorola's WiMAX end-to-end
(E2E) low teledensity solutions. Eden Rock to provide system
engineering services for the E2E network, integrate and
test the E2E network and develop tools along with methods
and procedures for the E2E WiMAX network. Eden Rock will
host a fully integrated testing site for the E2E network
- open to current and potential customers at its labs in
Saltillo, Mexico.
Motorola says the Motorola low teledensity WiMAX solution
is well-suited for deployments by small operators servicing
smaller demographic areas of coverage or lower ARPU options.
By leveraging technology that can help drive down the cost
per subscriber, operators can achieve greater cost savings
and higher margins per subscriber.
"Motorola continues to be a leader in WiMAX infrastructure
solutions. Motorola's WiMAX low teledensity solution offers
small operators the opportunity to take advantage of the
same benefits that larger WiMAX operators have realized
for quite some time," said Chaz Immendorf, president
and CEO of Eden Rock Communications. Immendorf added, "The
services offered by Eden Rock enable smaller operators to
create their own 'virtual 4G technology team,' leveraging
the same support resources as some of Motorola's largest
WiMAX customers."
"This initiative between Motorola and Eden Rock can
save small WiMAX operators OPEX and CAPEX costs by defining
a complete reference network that may be replicated into
a fully-integrated, turnkey E2E WiMAX system," said
Fred Gabbard, vice president of product management, Motorola
Networks. "With Eden Rock's E2E and technology expertise
and Motorola's product leadership, we have created a powerful
combination that is ready to deliver WiMAX networks to this
important community of smaller operators, many of whom are
pursuing challenging business cases."
