National Semiconductor adds more distributors for its PV solar solutions

National Semiconductor has tied up with more distributors to sell its SolarMagic power optimizers. SolarMagic power optimizers manage difference in power produced by PV Solar panels due to shade and other factors so that the overall efficiency improves.

National's Global Sales and Services Manager Aaron Thurlow said, "Our network of respected global partners will help us meet the growing demand for SolarMagic through the continued expansion of our distribution channels."

The distributors in Europe now include SunGlad in France, Solar del Valle in Spain, VP SOLAR in Italy and soleg in Germany. In the United States, National has entered partnerships with distributors such as InterIsland, Empire Clean Energy and DC Power. National is also partnering with Sierra Pacific, Mercury Solar and Alteris Energy.

Daniel Marino, executive vice president at DC Power said "Our customers face everything from towering trees in the Northeast to dust storms in the Southwest, and we believe SolarMagic to be one of the best comprehensive solutions to help them resolve these issues and improve their solar array performance."

"Traditional French architecture with its small rooftops and myriad chimneys and architectural obstructions creates unique shading problems and puts solar system performance at a premium," said Pierre Aguerreberry, chief executive officer of France-based SunGlad. "SolarMagic gives the French market unparalleled flexibility in system design and helps us ensure our customers get the most power possible out of their systems."
