China emerge as the largest market for electric vehicles

China has overtaken US market in electric vehicle production. China Association of Automobile Manufacturers find in its study domestic and foreign brands in China presently account for 96% and 4% of the regional EVs market respectively. The local automotive company BYD accounts for 30% of this market. US based Tesla has great plans for high end market of clean energy powered vehicles along with the successful launch of Model S and Model X vehicles. BYD beats Tesla in production capacity in 2015 while accounting for 11.2% of the global market share. The manufacturers of Electric vehicles in China are currently redefining the market landscape for automobiles. It is forecasted, by 2020 the production capacity of pure EVs and plug-in hybrid vehicles will amount to 2 million units with accumulative sales exceeding 5 million units. Tesla S model, though crashed once in auto pilot mode, auto pilot mode enables the car to drive on its own while this feature is missing with BYD's electric car model e6. The comparison between BYD’s e6 and Tesla’s S Models can be highlighted through three important parameters namely motor, battery, and range.
