ST's MEMS, MCU & Analog: Ingredients for 100s of innovative product ideas

ST Micro India's head Vivek Sharma in a press meet at Embedded Systems Conference, Bangalore had highlighted range of ST Microelectronics' semiconductors devices, which can enable design engineers to design creative electronic products particularly for Indian market; both rural & urban.

He talked how MEMS can be integrated into medical & consumer electronic devices to add some of the motion related features, which are not available in many present products. He also said how ST's power semiconductor devices could play an important role in saving energy by using them in solar lamps/lanterns and also in traditional CFTs. ST is a technology initiator in the green power market, they have a broad product portfolio from longtime.

ST Microelectronics being a multi-domain expert offers range of digital, mixed signal ICs & MEMS based motion sensor devices to design creative products for present market requirements. It looks like MEMS is going to be a must device in every kind of hand held electronic devices, more so in mobile phones. ST is one of the leading suppliers of MEMS devices with 21% of global market share.

ST has a long-term focus on Indian electronics market and is generating more revenue from this part of the world compared to other top 10 semiconductors vendors. Though we don't have exact revenue figures, ST and other leading semiconductor vendor Texas Instruments (TI) can be estimated as top 2 semiconductors vendors in Indian electronics OEM and design market. Both ST and TI are well rooted in Indian electronics industry eco and are committed to the domestic market.
