Space-saving stepper motor driver IC for printers and such applications

Toshiba has added a new stepper motor driver IC TB67S549FTG to its family of stepper motor driver ICs. TB67S549FTG is available in small 4x4mm QFN24 package package featuring built-in constant-current control without the need of external circuit components. This chip is designed to save space on PCB. QFN24 package takes mounting area is 36% less than QFN32 packaged TB67S539FTG, Toshiba's another same application IC. TB67S549FTG uses Toshiba’s DMOS FET for its output power transistor, through which it can drive motor with a output voltage rating of 40V and output current rating of 1.5A. This new driver integrates current detection part for constant-current motor control, helping the design engineer from using external capacitor for a charge pump circuit. TB67S549FTG can operate from power supply voltages in the range of 4.5V to 33V, consume current up to 1μA in sleep mode making it suitable for 12V/24V power supply applications. Along with printers this device is suggested for financial electronic equipments such as Automatic teller machines (ATMs), Money-changing machines, and also Surveillance cameras and Projectors. TB67S549FTG is designed to operate in the temperature range of -20 to 85°C. safety functions such as Over-current detection, Thermal shutdown, are Under voltage lockout are available in this chip....
