Wireless power and wearable supporting tiny 25mA Li -ion charger IC
To charge small lithium ion batteries in the current range of 1 mA to 25 mA, Torex Semiconductor has unveiled a new charging IC family XC6810 series supporting wireless power supply and energy harvesting charging using solar PV.
XC6810 series due to its tiny package size of 1.17 x 1.57 x 0.33m, it is very suitable for space constrained applications such as wearables, hearables, and tiny IoT devices. With functions such as charge and discharge control, this device supports charging voltage of 3.8V -4.4V with input voltage range of 3.5V to 28V . XC6810 series has shutdown function to stop battery discharge during storage and not under use. The device can be waked up using its wake-up function through external push button.
The charging level indication is supported by a feature of indicating charging level by frequency. CSO terminal modulates the power supply voltage and the charging status and notifies through a two-wire communication. This device also feature battery voltage monitoring function to monitor battery voltage through a microprocessor or a microcontroller. These features ensure reliable charging information and low battery alert.
The other features include battery over discharge protection function, output terminal short circuit protection, reverse current blocking, safety timer of charging, battery temperature monitor, and input current limit.
