Power inductors for automotive power supply design operate in -55°C to +150°C

Date: 21/05/2015
TDK expanded its CLF-NI-D series of rugged power inductors to cover automotive electronics applications. The new CLF7045NI-D wirewound SMD power inductors can work in the temperature range of -55 °C to +150 °C.

CLF7045NI-D is available in the inductance range of 1.0 Micro Henries to 470 Micro Henries (E6 series). The physical dimensions of the inductors measures 7.4 mm x 7.0 mm x 4.5 mm and rated to handle current in the range of 0.41 A to 8.5 A and offer DC resistance values ranging from 9 Milli Ohms to 1.20 Ohms.

AEC-Q200 qualified CLF7045NI-D withstands higher heat. The terminals of the inductor feature a solderless structural design providing mechanical strength. These inductors are manufactured using fully automated process, so that the performance of the components are reliable and consistent. The automotive electronics specific applications suggested includes power supply circuits of engine control modules (ECM) and ECUs for airbags, ABS, and headlights.

TTDK said it will further expand the CLF-NI-D series with 5 mm, 10 mm and 12.5 mm square types in order to offer a broad lineup of power inductors that are suitable for a wide range of applications.
