±30kV single channel ESD protection device for multimedia mobile handsets

California Micro Devices has introduced the CM1242-33CP, a new ±30kV single channel ESD protection device that is suitable for high-density product applications such as SIM cards and I/O ports on multimedia devices such as Smart phones.

The key features of the CM1242 IC are,

Bi-directional ±30kV contact discharge ESD protection per IEC61000-4-2 standard
Low clamping voltage of ±8.6V
Low dynamic resistance of 0.4 Ohm (typ)
View Attenuation Curve

When compared with other ESD solutions such as varistors, the CM1242-33CP offers high, repeatable ESD protection over time, with no degradation in protection capability.

Package: Small 0201 standard package (0.6mm x 0.3mm)

Price: Each $0.035 for 15k pieces
Availability: Now in samples, production is scheduled for 1Q2010
