Switching transformers for EV and industrial offers high dielectric strength
TDK has made available a compact switching power supply transformer with a high dielectric strength of 3000 Volts AC across the primary and secondary coil of the transformer. Measuring 12.9 x 15.8 x 11.4 mm in size, this surface mount transformer is good for your functional safety designs where it complies with safety standards such as IEC 60664-1, 61558-2-16 standard. With the ability to operate at high working voltage of 1000V DC, it can withstand voltage transients up to 2500 Vpeak.
The packaging of these AEC-Q200 Rev. D qualified B78308*A003 series transformers supports clearance and creepage distances according to the IEC 60664-1 standard (Np/Ns: min. 8.14 mm clearance, min. 11.2 mm creepage).
TDK is offering this product in two versions:
Flyback topology with turns ratios of 1 : 0.22 : 0.78 and other in 1 : 0.33 : 0.7.
Three types are available for push-pull and half-bridge converters with turns ratios of 1 : 1.07 and 1 : 1 : 0.57 : 2.14.
By having coupling capacitance of only 2 picofarads, this transformers can switch in the frequency range of 100 kHz to 500 kHz. A wide operating temperature range of -40 °C and +150 °C makes them suitable to withstand harsh heat and extreme cold. Application suggested include electric vehicles and harsh industrial electronics systems.
