Lantronix acquired network management expert Uplogix

SaaS and embedded IoT solution provider Lantronix gains another unique network management capabilities by acquiring Uplogix. The deal was made by paying approximately $8 million in cash with an additional payment of up to $4 million, subject to the achievement of certain revenue targets for Uplogix.
Lantronix says in its release "The transaction will bring immediate scale to Lantronix’s OOB remote management solutions, adding a complementary high-end product offering that includes high-margin maintenance and licensing revenues."
OOB network management ensures resilient networks for 5G IoT and Edge Computing applications. Lantronix by quoting Gartner's study where it estimates more than 50 percent of enterprise-managed data will be created and processed outside the datacenter or cloud by 2025. Lantronix is eyeing this opportunity through this acquisition.
Uplogix generated a revenue of $9 million in past 12 months.
