5G fixed wireless device shipment to reach 7.6 million Units in 2022

Market researcher TrendForce says shipments of 5G FWA devices will reach 7.6 million units in 2022, a triple digit growth of 111%. TrendForce says 5G FWA device shipments in 2023 to reach 13 million units. Nokia, Huawei, Casa Systems, and TCL are some of the makers who are using Qualcomm, MediaTek, and UNISOC made semiconductor chips. Taiwanese players Arcadyan, Zyxel, Sercomm, Wistron NeWeb, Askey, and Alpha Networks are also making these devices.

5G FWA can replace wired broadband connection in both the home and office use cases due to its ability to offer data connection at higher speeds. 5G FWA converts 5G signals into Wi-Fi signals through base station construction and paired FWA devices as user Internet connections.

Internet service providers can use 5G FWA to improve user experience, customer loyalty by offering diversified services such as Wi-Fi Mesh, video, games, etc.

Since 5G FWA is wireless its sales installation cost and other maintenance issues compared to copper and optical-fiber-to-home wired connections.
