Astra Microwave uses NI AWR to design its GaAs MMIC

Date: 10/07/2015
Astra Microwave Products Limited has designed an S-band gallium arsenide (GaAs) semiconductor based monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) digital phase shifter and a digital attenuator for active phased-array radars using NI AWR Design Environment software.

Highlighted feature in the Microwave Office is any changes made in the layout were automatically updated in the schematic with updated simulation results and AXIEM.

“NI AWR software has improved the AMPL MMIC design flow and has reduced simulation times while at the same time providing better accuracy in simulation results,” said K. Suman Reddy, assistant manager and M. Laxmi, engineer at Astra. “It has given us an incredible advantage by speeding up the entire layout process.’’
