Hans Chuang appointed as VP of Altera Asia Pacific

Altera appointed Hans Chuang as regional vice president and managing director for Asia Pacific region. Mr. Chuang will lead Altera’s Asia Pacific sales organization and be based in Hong Kong. Mr. Chuang previously served as Altera’s president for Japan.

Commenting on the appointment, Mark Nelson, senior vice president of worldwide sales and technical services at Altera, said, “Hans has made significant contributions to Altera’s sales and FAE organization over the years, demonstrating a commitment to serving our customers and growing Altera’s business. We are pleased to bring his extensive experience to this key management position in Asia Pacific region.”

Mr. Chuang joined Altera in 1998 as a filed application engineer and has held various positions in the sales & FAE organization. He spent eight and half years in Japan from 1999 to 2007 where his last position was FAE Director. After 9 months in San Jose acting as global FAE director, Mr. Chuang joined the sales management team in Asia Pacific and his last position was senior sales director of Greater China region, based in Shanghai. Most recently, he has been the president of Altera Japan.
Mr. Chuang holds a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from University of British Colombia Canada, a master of Business Administration from McGill University and is fluent in Chinese, English and Japanese.
