eSilicon adds SMIC in its GDSII Explorer

eSilicon added China based chip foundry Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) as a new foundry choice for its GDSII Explorer online quoting tool.

“SMIC believes that by leveraging the internet, we can reach our customers with the most up-to-date information. eSilicon’s GDSII Explorer provides this kind of access, along with an enhanced customer experience,” said Sunny Hui, Senior Vice President of Marketing, SMIC. “Through eSilicon’s GDSII Explorer, we can offer a direct and effective way for our customers to be connected with us.”

“We’ve seen a steady rise in usage of GDSII Explorer,” said Mike Gianfagna, eSilicon’s vice president of marketing. “The addition of SMIC as a new foundry option will provide our customers with more flexibility as they plan their next ASIC design.”

GDSII Explorer is part of the online VLSI design platform eSilicon STAR (self-service, transparent, accurate, real-time) for IP browsing and evaluation, instant quoting, chip optimization services and work-in-process tracking capabilities.
