Dialog and ShunSin acquire stake in Dyna Image of Taiwan

Dialog Semiconductor acquired 40% stake in Dyna Image, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lite-On Semiconductor. Dialog’s CEO, Jalal Bagherli, and the company’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, Mark Tyndall, to be part of five-member board of Dyna Image. ShunSin Technology Holdings Limited, a Foxconn subsidiary is also said to acquire a stake in Dyna Image.

Based in New Taipei City, Taiwan, Dyna Image design and manufacture optical, inertia and environmental sensors for consumer electronics applications and is already shipping optical sensors in volume to the China market. Sean Li from Lite-On Semiconductor will lead the joint venture spinout as its CEO.

Dialog Semiconductor to support Dyna Image in development of sensors such as ambient light, proximity, colour and gesture sensors for smartphones, IoT and wearable devices.

Dialog’s CEO, Jalal Bagherli, said, “This investment represents Dialog’s first foray into the sensor market.
