IIT Bombay wins Thomson Reuters India Innovation Award

IIT Bombay has been conferred the Thomson Reuters India Innovation Award 2014 in recognition of the innovation and patenting activity being carried at the Institute, under the category of 'Academic and Research Institutes'.

The award has been given to honor the most innovative academic institutions and commercial enterprises in India for their spirit of innovation in R&D. The criteria used to select the winners include the patent portfolio size, success rate, extent of globalisation and influence of innovation, based on the research and analysis using the Derwent World Patents Index, Derwents Patents Citation Index Data and Thomson Innovation tools.

The award was received by Prof. P.M. Mujumdar, Dean (R&D), IIT Bombay on behalf of the Institute, at a function held in Mumbai on December 12, 2014.
