Entegris acquires ATMI

Semiconductor manufacturing yield enhancing material and components supplier Entegris has acquired another semiconductor equipment related vendor ATMI.

The combined company to have 3,500 employees worldwide and a pro forma 2013 revenues of more than $1 billion, stated in the release.

Yield is becoming a critical issue in semiconductor manufacturing at the nodes of 20 nm, 16 nm, 14 nm and below, companies such as Entegris can leverage the market opportunity for good revenue growth.
