With the crowding of smart phone market, for innovation driven companies the wearable device market gives more space to launch unique products with market's first advantage. The leading mobile device companies Samsung, Apple, Sony, and Google are already offering excellent wearable products.

Wearable is not only about features it is also about style and design, so it’s a combination of technology and art. International Data Corporation (IDC) has reported the shipment volumes of wearable devices to exceed 19 million units in 2014, more than tripling last year's sales. From there, the global market will swell to 111.9 million units in 2018, resulting in a CAGR of 78.4%.

IDC says complex accessories (e.g., Nike+ FuelBand, Jawbone UP, and Fitbit devices) will lead the wearables market through 2018 as users continue to embrace their simplicity and low price points. These partially independent devices depend in connectivity with IP-capable devices such as a smartphone, tablet, or a PC for full operation.

Wearable such as Google Glass are going to see bigger success in 2014. The market is not only of general type, there are going to be exclusive use of these devices for some specific applications/needs.
