QuickLogic expands S.Korea ops

FPGA bases custom device specialist QuickLogic opened a new office in Seoul, South Korea to support the increasing demand for its custom and catalog CSSPs in Asia. .

QuickLogic shares a market study data by IDC, which says- the 2013 forecast for worldwide tablet sales is 229 million units, an increase of 59% over 2012. The strongest growth came from Android-based systems, including tablets made by South Korean and Taiwanese companies. IDC is also predicting total smartphone sales of 959 million units for the year, marking a nearly 33% rise from last year's figure, with South Korea accounting for 70 million unit shipments in the first quarter of 2013 alone.

“Given the explosive growth of mobile devices in Asia, South Korea is an extremely important location for QuickLogic,” said Brian Faith, QuickLogic’s VP of worldwide sales and marketing. “By expanding our formal presence in South Korea, we will ensure best-in-class sales and technical support for our strategic customers, as well as strong alignment of our solution roadmap to their future requirements.”
