Burst of announcements from Cavium on
its product selection and new products
The multi-core processor maker Cavium released sudden burst
of announcements where it has announced its customers who
have selected chips for different applications. Here below
are some of those announcements.
ZyXEL has selected the Cavium Networks OCTEON Plus and
OCTEON II processor technology for its Integrated Service
Gateway (ISG), and Next Generation Firewalls and UTM appliances
(USG).
Thecus Technology has begun shipping their latest generation
of NAS product family based on Cavium's ECONA System-On-Chips
(SOCs). The N2200Plus from Thecus is a 2-Bay NAS appliance
targeted at the Consumer market. Based on the ECONA CNS3420,
the N2200Plus provides advanced features like RAID 0/1,
hot-swap, NAS and DAS modes and integrated download manager.
GIGABYTE has developed cloud-expandable storage products
focused on the rapidly growing Consumer and SMB markets
based on Cavium's ECONA System-On-Chips (SOCs). GIGABYTE's
GR-EZ series are based on Cavium's ECONA platforms. The
GR-EZ series models are mainly addressed at SMB / SOHO markets,
but they can also be perfectly suitable for a home entertainment
environment thanks to their multimedia file management capabilities.
The GR-EZ series products come with both disk and disk-less
options to provide customers seamless scalability for internal
disk storage to a virtual / remote disk in the cloud. Combined
with GIGABYTE's cloud storage architecture, this enables
customers to successfully deploy a private cloud very easily.
NETGEAR has adopted the Cavium ECONA chip in their award-winning
firewall solutions.
Cavium Networks is demonstrating products based upon Cavium's
latest PureVu, ECONA, Celestial and OCTEON processor families
at Computex 2011 on May 31- June 4 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel
in Suite 2412.
Cavium Networks has also announced the collaboration with
Caswell, Inc. to deliver Multi-Motherboard Blade Servers
(MMBS) powered by a massive array of OCTEON processors for
energy efficient cloud computing applications.
