Alvarion's base stations using ArrayComm's
advanced beamforming software
ArrayComm LLC announced the commercial availability of
base stations from Alvarion using ArrayComm advanced beamforming
software. ArrayComm says using this technology, operators
are able to see substantial improvement in system capacity,
throughput, and range-yielding greater revenue from the
investment in wireless infrastructure.
"ArrayComm is the leader in multi-antenna signal processing,"
said Mark Altshuller, Alvarion CTO. "Their state-of-the-art
PHY baseband software for 4Tx beamforming resulted in faster
time-to-market and lower investment for our development
program, as well as providing our customers with enhanced
performance in high interference environments."
"Alvarion is one of the global leaders in 4G technology,"
said Bruce Duysen, President of ArrayComm. "We are
fortunate to work with a partner like Alvarion focussed
on getting to the market first with the best technology.
Their customers now can enjoy superior system economics
compared to the competition."
ArrayComm's differentiated beamforming software has been
integrated with Alvarion's best-in-class 4Motion base station,
and is already commercially deployed and available.
ArrayComm LLC has also recently demonstrated its BasePort
TD-LTE base station PHY running on high performance CEVA
DSP cores. The demonstration was implemented on Mindspeed's
Transcede 4000 SoC and verified by a tier-1 operator.
The performance demonstrated included channel bandwidths
up to 20 MHz and user data rates to 64 QAM on two antennas.
"SoC technology will play a key role in the development
of LTE infrastructure products," said Eran Briman,
vice president of marketing at CEVA.
