Hynix Semiconductor reported a sequential quarterly revenue drop of 0.5 trillion Won in 4Q10

Hynix Semiconductor has reported its consolidated sales of fiscal year 2010 amounted to 12.1 trillion won increased by 53% from 7.91 trillion won of 2009. Operating profit totaled 3.27 trillion won increased by 1,605% from 192 billion won in 2009. Net income for the year amounted to 2.66 trillion won from the loss of 333 billion won of the previous year. The figures of sales, operating profit and net income are the highest records thanks to the generation-ahead technology leadership and profitable product portfolio.

Consolidated sales of the fourth quarter totaled 2.75 trillion won, a decrease of 0.5 trillion from 3.25 trillion won in the third quarter.

Hynix also stated Quarter-over-quarter, DRAM average selling price of the fourth quarter declined 28% while the bit shipment climbed by 18%. NAND Flash average selling price declined by 12% while bit shipment increased by 32% quarter-over-quarter.

Operating profit of the fourth quarter was 418 billion won with operating margin of 15%, decreased from the previous quarter's 1.01 trillion won with operating margin of 31%. Net income for the quarter was 110 billion won decreased by 90% compared with 1.06 trillion won of the previous quarter. Net income was negatively impacted by net interest expense and non-operating expense, mainly from the lost legal case, said Hynix.
