Using simulation software is deeply interlaced in engineering design processes

Life is much about facing variables but can they be predictable? If they are predictable then present computer simulation software program like Ansys can be even used to know how our life can be impacted, may be after marriage, or moving jobs from one domain to another domain.

But finite element analysis based simulation softwares such as Ansys and Abaqus can be definitely used to design an advanced and complex product without doing any physical prototype. The value addition of simulation software in saving product design cost is immense. These tools expand the design options larger compared to old style prototype designing.

For Indian design-software-service offering companies, this throws up another domain of services offering capabilities. In fact, many of the Indian companies are already doing this. In the recently held Ansys tech event in Bangalore, a total of around 1000+ people have attended different technical sessions organized by them. Interesting papers were presented at the event. Ansys had also displayed a bladeless fan designed using Ansys software, where airflow related design was simulated.

In advanced electronics and semiconductor chip design too; the physical, environmental and electromagnetic tests are simulated using tools such as Ansys and Abaqus for designing both monolithic, multi-chip modules and boards. The present day mobile devices are also designed using simulation tools to make them robust and reliable.

The popular MATLAB and Simulink is widely used in simulation, whereas advanced packages like Ansys and Abaqus does go deeper in simulating a product under multiple parameters.

Here is a comment by an attendee of the Ansys event:

"ANSYS India conferences are very great events for a researcher like me to interact with many experts in my field to exchange ideas about CAE and CFD areas," said Dr. A. S. Panwalkar, Additional General Manager, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd.
