Express Logic's ThreadX RTOS supports
CEVA DSP Core
Express Logic's ThreadX RTOS now supports CEVA, Inc.'s
CEVA-TeakLite-III DSP core. The CEVA-TeakLite-III targets
SoCs used in consumer, mobile, networking, and office automation
applications, strongly complementing Express Logic's market
focus.
Express Logic says its ThreadX is currently deployed in
over 800 million electronic products in markets such as
consumer and mobile devices, office automation, medical
equipment and networking.
CEVA-TeakLite-III features native 32-bit processing, including
32-bit multiplier with 72-bit accumulation for full data
precision, and strong bit-manipulation capabilities for
stream processing and 32-bit FFT support for communication
modems and audio codecs. The 10-stage pipeline allows the
DSP to support high-speed implementations, making it ideal
as a single core for applications such as 3G cellular handsets,
High Definition (HD) audio, Voice-over-IP (VoIP) and portable
audio devices. The native 32-bit architecture is backward
compatible with previous members of the CEVA-TeakLite family.
"Our high-performance CEVA-TeakLite-III DSP is capable
of handling multiple, simultaneous tasks such as wireless
baseband modem, wide-band voice processing, noise reduction,
and audio playback, making it an excellent match with the
efficiency and functionality of Express Logic's ThreadX
RTOS," said Eran Briman, vice president of marketing
at CEVA. "ThreadX gives CEVA-TeakLite-III based systems
the fast, real-time response they demand, and enables our
DSP to deliver its best performance."
"Connectivity has revolutionized how companies do
business and how people live their lives," noted William
Lamie, President of Express Logic. "ThreadX, with its
royalty-free licensing, small footprint and efficient operation
is a perfect match for the CEVA-TeakLite-III DSP. Together,
they power today's most exciting solutions for consumer
and industrial communication devices."
