Broadcom's Set-Top Box technology powers
EchoStar's HD DVR
Broadcom's BCM7400 satellite set-top box (STB) system-on-a-chip
(SoC) solution has been chosen by digital media equipment
company EchoStar for its SlingLoaded 922 high definition
digital video recorder (HD DVR). This HD DVR incorporate
place-shifting technology enabling users view their home
television on other consumer electronics devices such as
laptop computers and smartphones.
The key features of BCM7400 include:
--Secure access, storing and sharing multiple types of
digital media such as HDTV programs, video-on-demand (VoD),
Internet content, digital video, music and photos.
--Supports H.264 standard.
--Enables access to multiple video sources, with a 1 terabyte
hard drive and provides up to 1,000 hours of media storage.
