IMS: Wireless PC peripheral to grow fast over the next 5yrs

In a report titled "The World Market for PC Peripherals & Accessories - 2010 Edition" IMS Research has forecasted that wireless adoption among computer mice, keyboards, printers, routers, speakers, monitors and projectors will increase over the next five years.

IMS Research believes that there are three primary reasons behind the rapid growth of wireless within the PC peripheral market:
--Wireless products can offer a more convenient solution for users, compared with wired products
--The average selling price (ASP) of wireless PC peripherals is expected to decline quickly due to intense competition and large-scale production.
--Constant innovation across a variety of wireless technologies and PC peripheral devices.

Market analyst, Michael Liu commented, "Currently, the proportion of wireless products varies significantly for different PC peripherals. For example, it is estimated that in 2010, about 80% of all routers will be wireless, while less than 3% of projectors will be wireless. Even so, there is a clear trend to wireless for all types of PC peripherals, and wireless products will become more and more popular."
