Robot takes on marriage priest role in Japan

AP in its news story has reported robot 'I-Fairy' made by Japanese company called Kokoro Co., has conducted an official marriage in Japan. This shows typically marriage procedures can be recorded and played in sequence by robot like machine for the marrying couples to follow instructions just the way they follow the marriage priest's instructions.

The bride is an employee of Kokoro Co. Japanese companies are actively involved in robot making, but more involved in technology rather than application. This marriage example is some progress to make the robots to touch the hearts of human beings.

The people are realizing the potential of robots everywhere, only it's a matter of time and few technology breakthroughs will make the robot industry one of the most attractive markets in the near future (just few years).

The bridegroom who is a professor of robotics in at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology in central Japan wants to see the robots to be cleverer.

To make the robots clever it takes lot more effort. There lives a huge scope of development in electronico-mechanical engineering domain. The robot technology is already heavily used in application domains such as automotives and industrial but it is more called as driver assistance systems in automotives and industrial automation in industrial applications. You can see why Japan is doing so well in automotives and industrial automation. Technology may not find direct use always.

Would like to know the cost of this marriage conductor: $68,000.
