Avnet, the leading distributor of semiconductor, electronics components and software technologies has raided the dotcom wave quite early compared to others in the business, now it is going equally good in cloud computing. Avnet is not just a physical device distributor, it's solutions and services are very wide, except manufacturing and core development Avnet is into most parts of the technology business.

By quoting the Gartner's market prediction of cloud services reaching $150 billion market by 2013 Avnet has announced introduction of CloudReady, a new initiative designed to prepare and enable U.S. and Canadian partners to capitalize on emerging cloud computing growth opportunities. CloudReady includes education and training, financing solutions, professional services, technical resources and integrated cloud computing solutions.

"Even though cloud computing is still evolving, it is gaining momentum among businesses of all sizes as a flexible and cost-effective option," said Tony Vottima, senior vice president, Solutions Marketing and Development, Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas. "Cloud computing is a natural progression of the data center investments that companies have been making for years, and it will significantly change the way resellers do business. Avnet created CloudReady to help educate our partners on the market opportunities and challenges, realize the benefits of a recurring revenue model, enhance their cloud computing capabilities and navigate the rapidly changing cloud market."

Avnet is offering to its partners three-part virtual training and flexible financing solutions tailored to their unique business needs, providing them with the support needed to adjust their business models and align with cloud-based revenue streams.

Avnet has developed new professional SolutionsPath Services for its partners to target high-growth market opportunities that center on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud solutions through a combination of public, private and hybrid delivery options.

There is something specific to its India based partners too. Avnet Technology Solutions has launched its customized solution called VirtualPath practice to meet the specific needs of its India partners. Avnet is providing education, tools and resources needed to capitalize on the fast-growing virtualization market.

"Avnet is committed to accelerating our partners' success in the technology areas that are shaping the future of the IT industry," said Jaideep Malhotra, vice president and GM, Asia Pacific, Avnet Technology Solutions. Avnet expanded its VirtualPath practice into India to help our partners with the specialized skills needed to pursue opportunities in this complex, solutions-driven market and take advantage of the growth opportunities in virtualization."

Avnet says partners will be able to develop complete virtualization solutions, including hardware, software and services, for their customers by leveraging Avnet's portfolio of industry-leading virtualization suppliers in India, which include VMware, Double Take, Citrix, F5, Novell and Vizioncore.

"Virtualization technology has tremendous growth potential in India; however, it is also very complex and requires considerable sales and technical expertise," said Naresh Desai, general manager, Avnet Technology Solutions, India.

The cloud computing looks to be a Tsunami like wave, to ride this wave independently it requires lot of preparedness and resources. Well here come the opportunities for big companies to take control of IT resources businesses of the world.
