Blackfin processor powers Yamaha's media controller devices

Yamaha employs Blackfin BF533 digital signal processor from Analog Devices in its new YMC-500 and YMC-700 neoHD media controllers for home theater system.

The Yamaha neoHD media controllers use intuitive on-screen menus for easy navigation allowing user to control up to six other AV (audio visual) components, such as TVs, Blu-ray disc players and set-top boxes, through its single remote control and three IR (infrared) outputs on the Media Controllers' back panel.

A Blackfin BF533 processor in this device handles network, USB and GUI (graphical user interface) functions.
