Lattice Semiconductor's ispMACH 4000 CPLD shipment counter crosses 200 million

Lattice Semiconductor has announced it has shipped more than 200 million ispMACH 4000 complex programmable logic devices (CPLD). Lattice ispMACH 4000 CPLD is popularly used for I/O and bus interface applications, memory controllers and such large gate requiring glue-logic circuits. Lattice says ispMACH 4000 CPLD offers balance of price, power and packaging options.

"Congratulations to Lattice Semiconductor on this significant business achievement in shipping over 200 million units of the ispMACH 4000 CPLD family. Samsung uses the ispMACH 4000 devices in Mobile WiMAX projects because Lattice has consistently met our standards for quality, delivery and price," said Seung Gu Kang, Vice President, H/W Group Telecommunication Network Business, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. "I appreciate Lattice Semiconductor as a supplier because Samsung has become considerably more competitive in the market by virtue of their devices. I expect Lattice to continue to strongly support Samsung with the best device quality and price for us to strengthen our worldwide market share in the future."

The ispMACH 4000Z and ispMACH 4000ZE versions of this family consume low power. ispMACH 4000Z also supports harsh automotive temperature range.

For a quick design you can look for more than 2 dozen reference designs based on ispMACH 4000 CPLDs offered by Lattice Semi for various I/O interface applications. Find them at,

ispMACH 4000 CPLDs are also costs low, the each device is available at a price of $0.50 for 32 macrocells in volumes of 250K units and the development kit is available for $36.

Either big or small, FPGA and PLD companies are on the growth curve. Lattice and Altera have recently announced rise in Q1 2010 revenue outlook. 2009 was a good year for programmable logic companies compared overall semiconductor industry, and the year 2010 is going to be even better.
