NXP Semiconductors revenues grew by 8%
in 4th quarter of 2009
NXP Semiconductors has reported a fourth quarter 2009 sales
revenue of US$1130 million, up by 8.0% compared to third
quarter of 2009 and an increase of 12.6% over the fourth
quarter of 2008. NXP has seen improvement in all segment
and regions except Home business segment.
For the full year of 2009 NXP's total revenue has reached
US$3843 million compared to US$ 5443 million in 2008. For
the reduction of revenue, NXP attributes both due to divestment
of its wireless activities in July 2008 and recession in
2009.
NXP's book to bill ratio for Q4 2009 is 1.21 compared with
1.11 in Q3 2009
Rick Clemmer, Chief Executive Officer of NXP, said, "In
the fourth quarter, we saw for the first time in the last
6 quarters, a year on year growth on a comparable basis.
We built on the momentum of Q3 and saw continued growth
in almost all business segments. This was preceded by a
tough first half of the year where the business was significantly
impacted by the global economic and financial crisis. The
success to date of the accelerated and expanded Redesign
Program, the execution of our strategic focus on High Performance
Mixed Signal, improvements in our capital structure and
our agility to respond to market conditions, sees us enter
2010 with more confidence, better focused and better equipped
to win."
NXP Semiconductor has sold its set-top box and television
systems business lines to Trident Microsystems.
