Rescue Alert selects IAR Embedded Workbench
for its medical alarm systems
Rescue Alert has selected IAR Embedded Workbench for their
medical alarm systems called the 'MXD Personal Response
System'.
The MXD Personal Response System comes in the form of a
base unit combined with a small transmitter button worn
on a wrist band or on a necklace. The device features two
way voice communications between the user and the monitoring
service, has a transmitter range of up to 600 feet, is waterproof
and can operate on the base unit's backup battery for up
to 90 hours. A coin lithium battery in the transmitter button
may last up to five years.
This personal medical alert system allows at-risk adults
to call for help simply by pushing their transmitter button
and talking to the monitoring service attendant over the
two-way speaker. The MXD personal alert system will be used
in hospitals, home health care facilities and user's residences.
"We're pleased that the IAR development tool for ARM
was the final choice of Rescue Alert after trying other
established vendors," said Nadim Shehayed, General
Manager of IAR Systems US. "This strengthens the fact
that IAR Systems is committed to providing not only high
quality development tools but also top-of-the-line customer
service to the medical field and related health care products,"
he added.
"Rescue Alert's personal medical alarm systems aim
is to help people continue to live safely and securely in
their homes as they age or develop medical challenges,"
said Richard Bangerter, Rescue Alert's President. "We
are proud of our product lines and are committed to offer
the best service to our customers. This is why we adopted
the best industry standard development environment for our
embedded application," he added.
The unit can be purchased or rented on a monthly basis.
