TI's OMAP gets Android development support
from Wipro
Wipro Technologies is offering range of design services
for Texas Instrument's OMAP processors such as Linux baseport,
Android operating system (OS) porting on hardware platforms,
middleware, third-party component integration, application
development, and operator customization. These services
are aimed at helping OEMs in commercializing Android based
products quickly.
TI's OMAP 4 is designed for mobile devices. It is based
on dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor cores.OMAP supports
high-definition video and such rich multi-media content.
The OMAP 4 platform based devices are expected to hit store
shelves by 2011.
Wipro says it's expertise in this domain as a System Integrator
has helped TI's customers realize cost efficiency and faster
deployment of applications on their products.
