LG selects Dialog Semiconductor's power management IC for Android Smartphone

LG has selected Dialog Semiconductor's DA9035, a high integrated power management and audio IC for GW880 Android Smartphone.

The DA9035 PMIC & Hi-Fi audio / voice codec incorporates a 24-bit audio processor, touch screen controller, LED / vibrator driver and system-level power management functionality for 3G cellular platforms. Connecting directly to the battery the DA9035 provides stable, low noise supplies for all core circuits within the phone, with additional regulators for enhanced application capabilities such as Bluetooth modules, camera modules, and SD memory cards.

"LG is amongst the world's most respected technology brands and the relationship with LG is an important one for Dialog. We're delighted to strengthen this relationship as LG continue to move forward in the Android Smartphone sector," said Dr Jalal Bagherli, CEO of Dialog Semiconductor.

Dr. Bagherli continued, "the Android OS enables great usability and access to a vast range of applications. However, this means users are running power intensive software for greater periods, yet demand that battery life is unaffected. Dialog is proud to be a key enabling factor in meeting this requirement."
