Asoka, Gigafast using CopperGate's CG2110 chipset into their HomePlug audio/video

Asoka has announced that it is developing HomePlug AV bridges based upon the high performance CopperGate CG2110 Chipset. The new HomePlug AV adapters deliver better data and video using existing power line wires inside consumer homes.

The CopperGate CG2110 is the first HomePlug AV chipset that delivers 200 Mbit/s of PHY layer performance, wide coverage, high throughput, and easy set-up.

Asoka says, it sells HomePlug-based products to some of the largest service providers including AT&T, Bell Canada, Century Link, Clear, Comcast, Fairpoint, and Swisscom.

Gigafast has announced that it is also developing HomePlug AV bridges using high performance CopperGate CG2110 Chipset. The new HomePlug AV adapters will enable OEMs to deliver high performance, low power, low cost, powerline communications (PLC) solutions to retail consumers.
