65nm XS Version 1-Gigabit DDR3 SDRAM from Elpida

Elpida Memory has completed the development of 65nm XS extra-shrink version 1-Gigabit DDR3 SDRAM, which is similar in cost to 50nm process memory devices.

The 65nm XS version 1-Gigabit DDR3 SDRAM is targeting the PC and server DRAM market.

The 65nm XS is a small version of the already shrunken 65nm S that delivers 25% more chips per 300mm wafer compared with its predecessor. In addition to its small chip size the XS shortens the manufacturing process and helps to reduce equipment costs through the use of ArF dry scanner equipment.

Availability: In mass production from first quarter of 2010
