Trident adopts Mentor's Veloce platform for system-level verification of its digital TV SoC

Trident has adopted Mentor's Veloce platform for the system-level verification of its digital TV SoC chips. The Veloce platform is a dual-mode accelerator/emulator, providing MHz performance for both transaction-based verification and in-circuit emulation (ICE), and suitable for multimedia, wireless, networking, and embedded systems applications.

"In the fast-moving consumer electronics market, Trident needs to be able to react quickly to market dynamics while minimizing the risks involved in the integration of our next-generation SoCs," said Saeid Moshkelani, senior vice president of engineering, Trident Microsystems. "Adopting Veloce for the accelerated verification and emulation of our SoCs, and the excellent support we have received from Mentor, plays a major role in meeting these challenges, and producing high-quality products for our customers."

"Veloce continues to lead the way as the industry's premier solution for the accelerated verification of the next generation of SoCs," said Eric Selosse, Mentor Emulation Division (MED) vice president and manager. "We are delighted that Trident is benefiting by verifying their latest digital TV products using Veloce. Their success is further indication that Mentor delivers the best-in-class solutions for multimedia-based applications."
