Catalyst Semiconductor proves small analog companies can perform well

In the semiconductor world where big companies dominate with huge market share and investment strategies, small sized vendors face a tough competition. But intellectually driven companies like Catalyst beat the competition with its innovative analog ICs.

In the recently released Fiscal 2008 financial press release of Catalyst Semiconductor, all parameters points to good growth.

Catalyst reports a total net revenue increase of 14% year-on-year, from $66.4 million in fiscal 2007 to $75.9 million in fiscal 2008.
Analog/Mixed-Signal ICs revenue has increased by 93% to $11.4 million for fiscal 2008 from $5.9 million for fiscal 2007.
However the Quarter-to-Quarter growth of Analog/Mixed-Signal ICs was only up by 20%, from $2.3 million for the quarter ended January 27, 2008 to 2.7 million in the 4th quarter ending Apr 27 2008.

The other highlights of Catalyst Semicondcutor's fiscal 2008 are,

Catalyst is granted with three patents in Analog IC design.
The success of CAT4201 LED driver: A fantastic device.
A total of 17 new products released in fiscal 2007.

It’s a Notable performance to motivate any such small innovation driven semiconductor companies.
