HyperSpace OS is to be bundled with Intel Atom based motherboards

Phoenix Technologies and Intel agreed to distribute Phoenix' HyperSpace instant on operating sytem software ( mainly for netbook/notebook computers) package with Intel Atom based desktop boards supporting Atom processors 230 and 330. These Intel motherboards with HyperSpace technology will be available worldwide in 4th quarter of 2009.

HyperSpace computing environment offer instant-on, always-connected access to the Internet and key productivity applications such as HyperSpace Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Hulu, McAfee, Real Networks, Yahoo Search, etc.

The Intel Atom processor is the leading CPU in the nettop market segment. "Intel and Phoenix are jointly working to meet consumer expectations from small form factor computing devices," said consumer computing analyst Tim Barjarin of Creative Strategies. "By pre-integrating HyperSpace with Intel Atom processor-based nettop boards, they are enabling products that deliver end users connectivity, versatility and usability."

"Intel and Phoenix have enjoyed many years of successful technology pairings and we're pleased to continue the partnership by joining HyperSpace with Intel's Atom processor platform to create the foundation for consumer computing products that improve the user experience," said Woody Hobbs, President and CEO of Phoenix. "We're working closely with our OEM and ODM partners to provide innovative new technologies that enable end-user computing products that today's consumers are seeking. Growing demand for nimble, light-weight computing devices has in turn fueled demand for operating platforms like HyperSpace, that install a dynamic user environment with extended battery life."

"Phoenix has taken a leadership role in understanding the evolving needs and expectations of nettop users and delivering innovative products like HyperSpace that provide the simplicity, functionality and productivity they're seeking," said Clem Russo, vice president and general manager of Intel's Client Boards Division. "This pairing of Intel Atom processor-based platforms and the HyperSpace instant-on computing environment will benefit our customers and consumers alike."
