Wipro ranked as number-one semiconductor global R&D service provider

Consultancy company Zinnov has done the ranking of global R&D service providers based in India, China and Eastern Europe. According to Zinnov's analysis, Wipro tops in most of the areas of IT industry including semiconductor. The others in this list of top 5 semiconductor related service providers include HCL, Mindtree, TCS and Tata Elxsi (followed in this order).

Wipro is also ranked number one in Consumer Electronics, and Medical Electronics R&D services domain. In consumer electronics area, the next 4 topping the list are TCS, Tata Elxsi, HCL and MindTree. In medical electronics domain, TCS MindTree, GlobalLogic and HCL are ranked top 4 after Wipro.

In telecom related R& D services domain, Aricent leads the list followed by Wipro, HCL, TCS and Tech Mahindra.
The automotive electronics top-5 R& D service providers are TCS, Wipro, HCL, KPIT, and Tata Elxsi.

For many Indian IT companies R& D services is the easy revenue generating option both in the times of growth and recession. The trend is expected to continue for longer time.

Most of the companies named above are having tough time in becoming successful in IP/Products business.
