Volterra Semiconductor 2Q revenue figures signals industry recovery

Volterra Semiconductor has posted net revenue of $22.8 million for the second quarter of 2009, a 25% increase compared with net revenue of $18.3 million for the first quarter of 2009.

This is something the semiconductor industry is really looking for. Quarterly growth of 25% is not an easy one in this weak economy period. Volterra is not making any muti-core processor based SoCs, its into basic analog power semiconductor IC business, where the growth is more challenging.

3rd quarter and 4th quarter of 2009 can be easily estimated to see a growth in the range of 10%.

"Our second quarter was another strong quarter for Volterra," said Volterra President and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Staszak. "I'm very pleased with our execution and performance in this challenging business environment as we were able to improve our margins and profitability as our quarterly revenues exceeded our initial expectations."
