World's number 1 semiconductor vendor Intel pushes WiMAX into faster growth mode

Intel is always rich with its electronics market intelligence knowledge; two of its recent shift/moves is clear indication of its market knowledge. These moves can keep the Intel ahead of others semiconductor players for some more years.

They are,
1. Moving into embedded systems market through launch of processors and services tailored for     nondesktop personal computing devices/gadgets (netbook, notebook, smart-phone). These gadgets     are clearly the next market drivers in the coming years.
2. The other is Intel's initiation in WiMAX: Intel is creating a technology/market which allows the      communication service end-user not to forcefully tied to highly patented standards of UMTS (CDMA      and GSM based/supported) where good amount of money spend by the end-user in buying device      and using communication services is pocketed by the patent holding companies.

With its level of capabilities, Intel can enable the mass-population over the world to access highly affordable and performance boosting digital gadgets by using more open but safe standards.

Intel looks to have more hold on WiMAX rather than in embedded space. Here provided are Intel's very recent moves in WiMAX area.

1. To help swift implementation of WiMAX services in Japan Intel has invested US$43 million into UQ     Communications.
2. Intel is the driving force behind Open Patent Alliance (OPA) and is added recently with new members     such as Beceem Communications, GCT Semiconductor, Sequans Communications, UQ    Communications and Acer have joined the Open Patent Alliance (OPA).

3. Intel is actively involved in helping service providers to launch WiMAX services in most of the     emerging regions of the world like Philippines and South Africa
4. In India, Intel is behind most of the WiMAX initiatives

The combined synergetic move by Intel in this converged device market can yield wonderful results for this company.
