Freescale to license e200 core for SOC designers

Freescale has announced, it will license e200 processor core based on its power-PC architecture to the developers of System On Chip(SOC) devices and Application Specific Standard Products (ASSP) for automotive applications. IP licensing expert Ipextreme Inc. will sell these IP cores to embedded designers. IPextreme will package e200 cores as technology blocks for seamless, easy integration into semiconductor designs. IPextreme's integration specialists also will support customers acquiring e200 cores and provide maintenance services for the cores.
Freescale also said in the press release, it has shipped more than one million e200 core-based MPC5500 family MCUs with zero-defect quality.
