India is not a recession hit market for Samsung

Samsung has launched its LCD Televisions with LED backlight in Indian market. Samsung has released three models of LED TVs in the sizes of 40, 46 and 55 Inches in Indian market. With LED has backlight, the picture on LCD TVs will look more original and rich in color. Also there is significant amount of power save. The other interesting feature of these new Samsung LED TVs is, they are slimmer with a thickness of only 29.9 mm.

Both Sony and Samsung are making LED backlighted LCD TVs and both are concentrating on Indian consumer electronics market. The rich non-IT higher middle class in India are now driving the market for companies like Sony and Samsung during this global recession period. According to Jung Soo Shin, Samsung's President for South West Asia, India is not a recession hit market.

Flat Televisions, Gaming systems and digital cameras are hot products in Indian consumer electronics market. Samsung is expecting a growth rate of 30% in Indian market. Sony electronics is also doing well in Indian market. Sony sales in India for last 3 quarters of 2008 has grown by 25% compared to same period in 2007.

Though India's market offers little hope to consumer electronics manufacturers, but the size of the Indian market is not that big in comparison to fully developed economies.
