HP Z workstations are powered by AMD's ATI FirePro 3D graphics accelerators

AMD's ATI FirePro graphics accelerators are used by HP's recently launched Z-series workstations to handle complex graphics like 3D models of scientific and engineering applications. HP's Z400, Z600 and Z800 Workstations are powered by ATI FirePro V7750, ATI FirePro V3700 and ATI FirePro V5700.

Jeff Wood, director of worldwide marketing, Workstations, HP said, "We look forward to working with AMD and using its ATI FirePro graphics accelerators to bring customers powerful solutions for their demanding graphics-intensive applications."

HP Z workstations are Intel Xeon Processors based systems with new intelligent power allocation features. Hp says in its website, some of these workstations can process complex data at super-computer speeds.

This product is a combination of both Intel and AMD technologies.
