TI says its 1394 devices demand is a continued success

Texas Instruments (TI) has shipped 300 million 1394 devices to 3500 customers. TI expects the demand to further accelerate as more home entertainment consumer equipments to adopt 1394 more aggressively to access High Definition (HD) audio and video. 1394 devices are used on either CAT5 or coaxial cable. The TI popular products for this market are, TSB83AA22A phy and link layer device, the TSB41BA3 and TSB81BA3 phy devices.
In a separate press release TI also has announced it's special 1394 customers with whom it's seriously engaged to deliver some interesting products. The companies named are Samsung for multimedia products and Lacie for storage products.
