Chipset Puma from TI for cable TV market crossed 1 million shipments

Texas instruments has said, it has shipped more than 1 million Puma 5 cable chipsets supporting new DOCSIS 3.0 specs.

Next generation cable TV services market providing data, video and voice, has significant size and presence in U.S. and Europe. The DOCSIS 3.0 is the latest standard adopted by the cable industry in U.S. and Europe to have next generation Internet and data connection to homes via existing cable TV. The modifier version for Europe is called EuroDOCSIS.

Puma 5 from Texas Instruments is a DOCSIS3.0 hardware development platform for developing data and voice cable modems, set-top box, and gateway and video gateway products.
